Willow Cottage was given a fresh makeover by the previous owner, who opened up space, improving flow, and adding country detailing to this 1940s gem. The kitchen and dining areas, which enjoy the benefits of golden late day light, were opened up, and the kitchen appointed with a vintage ceramic sink and beadboard paneled cabinetry and walls. The stairs, located by the front door, were freed of their side walls, again creating a connection between the dining room and living room on the other side, where a wooden mantelpiece sets off the fireplace.
A short corridor behind the living room includes the one ground floor bedroom, which has a double-doored closet. Like all the doors in the house, they are clad in beadboard. Next door a full bathroom features a deep, vintage tub with surround for your candles and salts. and a vintage sink. At the end of the hall is the door to the screened porch, which looks out over the level lawn, and out toward the fenced garden with its raised beds. A fire pit sits at the far corner of the property, near the start of the deep woods behind.
There are two more bedrooms upstairs, which share a bathroom featuring a large, tiled, walk-in shower.
The small hamlet of Willowemoc is set between Claryville and Livingston Manor, and includes miles of the trout-filled creek that shares its name.
